Custom masonry fire pits and outdoor fireplaces create focal points and extend your outdoor entertaining season into the cooler months. We build with natural stone, brick, and manufactured stone veneers — gas or wood-burning, with proper code clearances and chimney design.
Outdoor fireplace construction follows the same principles as indoor masonry fireplaces — firebox sizing, throat and smoke chamber proportions, and chimney height are all engineered for proper draft and safe operation. We use refractory brick and castable refractory cement in the firebox and smoke chamber for heat resistance.
Gas-burning outdoor fireplaces and fire pits are popular for their convenience — a turn of a key valve (or touch of a remote) lights the fire, and shutting off the gas extinguishes it immediately. Gas fire features require a natural gas or propane supply line and a gas shut-off valve at the appliance.
Fire pit designs range from simple circular stone rings with a steel grate insert to fully built masonry structures with surrounding stone seating walls, built-in stone benches, and integrated grill grates for cooking. We design the surround and seating to complement the patio and overall outdoor living space design.
